Poolside with Tigerlily

Say hello to Tigerlily, one of our incredible Activities Team Leader! From having your usual drink ready at the bar to welcoming you poolside with a smile, Tiger is a familiar face to all. We caught up to hear what she and the team have in store for your little ones over the holidays!

When did your journey with the Partnership begin?

My journey with the Partnership began in 2021 in John Lewis High Wycombe café. I was there for eight months before moving to the shop floor, where I worked across womenswear, children's shoes, and jewellery.

From the bar to the swimming pool, what does a typical "day in the life" look like for you in your new role?

I start the day bright and early at 7:00 am to open the pool, update our records, and complete the pool testing. After opening up to our members for their morning swim, I’ll start getting everything organised for our open swim sessions. We might also have campers checking in, so I always make sure they're settled and happy. From there, I brief the team for the day ahead, making sure everyone is ready to go, and then we run the daily operations right through until closing.

Could you share a sneak peek of what's in store for the kids this summer?

The Activities team has been working endlessly to make sure we give children a memorable summer! Here is a little sneak peek of what to look out for:

Summer Craft Event (11th July): Get creative and make anything from bracelets to solar systems!

Elf & Fairy Trail (Early August): Follow the map and keep your eyes peeled for our tiny, magical residents, and trade in your completed map at the end for a prize!

Hawaiian Pool Party (29th August): The perfect way to end your summer with games, food, and music!

You recently holidayed in Italy. If you could bring one thing from your trip back to The Odney Club, what would it be?

I had a wonderful holiday in Sorrento, Italy. If I could bring one thing back, it would definitely be the concept of the Aperitivo hour. I love how naturally they transition from the workday to personal time by sitting down, unwinding, having a quick drink, and just talking to each other. Plus, who doesn't love a cheeky Aperol Spritz?

What’s your current Odney Club obsession - the one thing every Partner and Member needs to try?

Picking just one Odney obsession is hard because there is so much to love, but I have a top two! First is the mini-golf, I feel like not enough people know about it, and it’s such a fun activity to do with friends (plus I am trying to improve my own golf skills, so every little helps). Secondly, it has to be our 'Cocktail of the Month'. I love trying new things, and they are always delicious and perfectly paired for the season.
