Say hello to Bethany, our Activities Manager! Whether she's managing the pool, the dog paddock, or our action-packed Zumba and archery sessions, Bethany keeps the Club buzzing. She’s also our resident visionary for fun, constantly dreaming up fresh member events like our Easter festivities and the hit Scarecrow Trail.
You've made such an impact in such a short time. What did your journey look like before you came to The Odney Club?
Whilst I have worked for the Partnership previously, before Odney, I worked on cruise ships travelling around the world as an Entertainment host! It was the most amazing year, and I learnt so much. But when the Activity & Amenity manager role came up, I just had to take it…
With such a broad role, what does a typical day look like for you?
Everyday is completely different and that’s what I love about it so much. The summer season is a busy one! I run a team of about 8 Activity Assistants, who keep everything ticking… the pool, archery and the campsite.
You oversee everything from the pool to the archery range and more. What’s your personal favourite activity to run?
I do love a bit of archery. My favourite sessions are when you have a big family who have booked to do archery together, and they're all super competitive, but supportive of each other. The session almost runs itself.
We have some exciting new additions on the grounds. Let's start with the newly launched Dog Paddock! Why should members book a slot?
We know that a huge amount of our Members and Partners here are dog owners! With the slight changes to where you can have your furry friend off the lead, the dog paddock was a great opportunity to offer a safe environment to let them off. Whether you have a reactive dog, a new little pup, or maybe just to socialise your dog with your friend’s dog, it's a great space to do all that!
We’re also launching a brand new, upgraded archery arena soon.
Can you give us the inside scoop on the expansion and relocation?
Archery has been our winter project ready for 2026. Archery belongs in a green, open space. So we’ve moved the Archery near the cricket pitch, creating its own safe arena. We’re finishing off the final touches, then sessions will be available to book soon in the Spring. This has also opened up the hard sports courts near the tennis courts, so they’ll be available to use during all our opening times.
Looking at the calendar, Easter is just around the corner. What can members expect from our activity lineup?
This Easter, we saw a great opportunity to offer something a little extra for our Members, Partners and their families. On the 4th April, we are holding our very first ‘Spring into Craft’ event, where we’ll be offering small fun little crafts for families to take part in. This will include handprint design crafts for the young ones, then watercolour easter card making for some of our tween members. We can’t wait to see you there!
Thank you Bethany!
Stay tuned for more chats with our team, where you'll get a glimpse into the passion and creativity that brings The Odney Club to life.
