You should arrive on-site at least 5 minutes before your session. Lateness will result in your booking slot being cancelled, and any pre-payment will not be refunded. All activities are subject to availability and weather conditions. Unless considered extreme, activities will continue in conditions such as rain and snow, but not if wind speeds are too high.

Suitable clothing must be worn in accordance with the weather. Wear appropriate footwear (boots/stiff-soled trainers, wellingtons). No flip-flops, sandals, open-toed footwear or bare feet.

You may not participate in the activity if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

On-site activities can be cancelled or changed without charge 24 hours before the activity is scheduled to start. If you decide to cancel your session within 24 hours, a 50% cancellation charge will apply; however, you may still change your activity without charge (subject to availability). Any rescheduled activities will be subject to the original charge if cancelled at any time.

If The Odney team cancel the sessions due to bad weather, you will receive a full refund of pre-paid monies for the cancelled session.

If you’re a Partner in the John Lewis Partnership, or a Member of The Odney Club, all you need is a valid Partner Discount Card or Membership Card to qualify for our discounted prices and offers. Failure to provide a valid discount card upon arrival may result in full prices being charged.

How do I book my slot?

Reserve your space by clicking the link above, taking you to our EventBrite page. Once booked you will need to pay at The Manor Bar Reception prior to your activity start time place (same day is fine). You will be given a wristband with your receipt, please bring both with you to the session to give to the instructor.

Where does it take place?

The archery takes place behind the swimming pool within the multi purpose court arena. Odney maps are available at The Manor Reception.

How long does the session last?

Approximately 90 minutes.

How many people can take part during the session?

There is a maximum of 8 people per session, unless you are a corporate event by prior arrangement.

Is there a minimum age for children?

We do not normally take children under 8 years of age, as we have found that they do not have the required strength or physical size to be able to shoot a bow and get the most out of archery. Young children will be assessed and parents advised if we feel that the session is not in their interest until they are older.

Do I need to remain with my child during the lessons?

Yes, you will be expected to remain with them at all times for the duration of the lessons if they are under 16.

What clothing should I wear?

Suitable clothing must be worn in accordance with the weather. Close fitting clothing will help to prevent the bowstring from catching you – e.g. avoid baggy sleeves or bulky jackets as these will make it difficult to shoot. Wear appropriate footwear such as boots/stiff-soled trainers. No flip-flops, sandals, open-toed footwear or bare feet.

What facilities are there (toilets & refreshments)?

We have toilets nearby and refreshments are available to purchase at The Manor Bar. Alternatively, during the summer season our coffee cart Willows will be open adjacent to the swimming pool.
