Meet Scarlett, our red-headed firecracker - shaping The Odney Club calendar. As our Events Coordinator, Scarlett spends her day planning memorable experiences, helping you feel inspired and connected all year round! Take a sneak peek at our upcoming events.

You’re currently prepping for our sold-out November Bingo night! For anyone who hasn't attended one of our events yet, what can they expect, and what do you enjoy most about putting them together?

If you haven’t joined us before, expect a really welcoming, relaxed night out. It’s classic bingo with a great atmosphere, a well-stocked bar, and plenty of laughs with friends. Right in the middle, we take a short break from the numbers for a music intro round, which will get everyone testing their trivia and humming along to a few familiar classics!

What I love most about hosting these events is watching the room come alive as people settle in, reconnect, and enjoy a drink together. The atmosphere is always wonderful, and there is nothing quite like the rewarding feeling of knowing you have truly made someone's evening.

Can you give us a sneak peak at what to expect in terms of events next year?

We have a fantastic calendar of events lined up for 2027, keeping that same welcoming atmosphere, great company, and something to look forward to every season. Whether you’re a familiar face at Odney or joining us for the very first time, there will be something for everyone. To kick off the new year, we’ll be launching a brand new jewellery workshop - keep your eyes peeled, as spaces will be available soon!

Before moving over to events a couple of years ago, you were a familiar face in The Manor, front of house team. What did you enjoy most about working so closely with the kitchen and FoH team, and how did that experience prepare you for event planning?

Being part of the Front of House team was an incredible experience, and I built so many close relationships with both Partners and our Members that I know will last a lifetime. Working so closely alongside the kitchen taught me how crucial seamless communication and timing really are. The fast-paced environment and in-the-moment problem solving gave me the best possible foundation for event planning. In events having that hands-on operational background means I can anticipate bottlenecks before they happen, stay calm under pressure, and ensure our kitchen and front-of-house teams are always set up to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

You play an active role in our Partnership Forum. For those who might not be familiar with it, could you explain what Forum is and what your exciting role involves?

The John Lewis Partnership Council is the elected, representative governing body within the Partnership. Council is the primary democratic voice of the Partners and is really what sets us apart from other businesses. I was elected in July and have loved every minute of it. It’s such a privilege to be part of.

We hear the Dog Paddock is a favourite spot for you and your dog, Otis! Tell us a little bit about him, and what makes the paddock such a great addition to our grounds.

Otis is my year and a half old Cockapoo, and to say he’s full of energy would be an understatement! He’s incredibly playful and loves everyone, whether they have two legs or four, though he can get a little overexcited at times.

Having the Dog Paddock on the grounds has been such a game-changer! It gives him a secure space to burn off that boundless energy, run full tilt, and play without the risk of stepping on any paws or overwhelming other visitors. It’s a fantastic addition for anyone with a high-spirited dog who needs a safe, open environment to just be a dog.

As someone who knows the estate inside and out, what is the one thing, a hidden gem, a favourite walk, or a menu item, that you’d recommend to anyone visiting?

Odney in Autumn is such a dream, any walk around the grounds this time of year is perfect. My favourite menu item at the moment is the Sea bass, it’s to die for!

Thank you Scarlett! Stay tuned for more conversations with our team, where you'll get a glimpse into the passion and creativity that bring The Odney Club to life.
