We caught up with Nicole, our Conferencing & Events Team Leader, to get the inside scoop on what happens behind the scenes.

Let’s start with the basics, what’s your current role, and how long have you been part of the Odney team?

I am the Events & Conferencing Team Leader and have been working at Odney since April 2025. I have always been in the event industry, having studied this at Winchester University.

Balancing corporate bookings and large events is a big job! What does a typical day look like for you?

Being in events, every day is different but that's what I love about the job! My role is to ensure that our Partners and Members have an exciting events calendar to look forward to each year. At the same time, the Sir Bernard Miller Centre hosts meetings and conferences daily. Both of which require attention to detail, careful planning and continuous growth.

Throughout the week you might find me in meetings with various stakeholders discussing upcoming events, answering emails or writing risk assessments.

I also have an amazing team who I work closely with to deliver the best customer experience possible.

When you're bringing an event to life from scratch, what would you say is the most rewarding part?

Seeing all the hard work pay off and the enjoyment it brings to Members, guests and Partners. It can sometimes be rather stressful in the lead up to an event, ensuring everything will run smoothly, so seeing the smiles on our guests faces makes it all worth it.

Rock The Manor is just a few weeks away. With such a great lineup this year, whose set are you most excited to see?

It's got to be Harry Styled! I didn't see him (Harry Styles) in concert this year but I am sure this tribute will make up for it. You will find me singing along to 'Watermelon Sugar' with my mum in the crowd!

If you had to give guests one insider tip before they arrive for the Rock The Manor weekend, what would it be?

To head down on the Friday evening! We have two great musicians joining us and it is free to attend. It will be an amazing start to the weekend; with an outside food offer and Fizz Friday's, what more could you ask for!

Looking back, what’s been your absolute favourite event here and why? And what else is coming up that Members should keep an eye out for?

Rock the Manor does have to be my favourite, simply for the great atmosphere all weekend long. It is our biggest event and growing each year and I love being a part of it.

Members should look out for our Christmas plans, we will have lots on offer to get them in the festive spirit, including the return of Santa's Brunch with even more dates due to popular demand!

Thank you Nicole! Stay tuned for more conversations with our team, where you'll get a glimpse into the passion and creativity that bring The Odney Club to life.
