Let's start at the beginning: How did you start as a housekeeper, and what path led you to join our team?

While my background is in account management, I shifted into housekeeping to find a career that harmonises better with my personal health and family priorities. I'm pleased that this role still enables me to contribute my strong work ethic and dedication to a respected team.

The inside scoop: What's one aspect of your role that you think might surprise our Members?

Honestly, housekeeping is a real workout! But the cool part that surprises most people is that it's so much more than just cleaning. We're massively involved in the entire guest experience. It's truly a people-focused job where being friendly and approachable is key. We're always checking in with guests, making sure they're comfortable, and paying attention to all the little details - like offering a hand with a suitcase. Those details truly make all the difference!

The best spot at The Odney Club: You see every corner of our club, day in and day out, do you have a personal favourite room or spot?

My favourite room has to be The Grove. I love its wonderful historic feel and the fact that it offers such great views of the river!

The soundtrack to your shift: When you're focused on the task at hand, what’s your go-to soundtrack? Are you a music person, a podcast fan, or do you prefer to quietly focus?

I like to listen to podcasts while I get things done. If I need a little energy boost, though, I switch to Afrobeat. Burna Boy is definitely my favourite artist in that genre.

Off the clock: When you’re not here making the club sparkle and shine, how do you spend your time?

Outside of my professional life, I cherish time with my six-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter. In the quiet moments between parenting, I am dedicated to completing my degree in digital marketing, with the ultimate aspiration is to start my own e-commerce business.

A memorable moment: This job is always about the people. Can you share a favourite memory you’ve had with a Member or Partner that really resonates with you?

My colleague Jackie is truly exceptional. She is incredibly personable and has been an absolute rock since my very first day. She has a genuine talent for making everyone feel instantly settled and fully integrated into the team. I particularly valued the time I spent working alongside her during those initial mornings while I was learning the ropes.

Thank you Joshua! Stay tuned for more chats with our team, where you'll get a glimpse into the passion and creativity that brings The Odney Club to life.
